Our ambition: modern comfort, charm of the past...

You will feel at home in our old house (1875). We will be waiting for you as  family, as in the old days, the days of our parents! Whatever the reason for your stay, you'll be comfortably hosted  in a charming decor of the past , with a warm welcome to the Gaspé and Mexican accents. If you do us the honor of sharing a few moments of friendship with us, this will be our main reward.

Your hosts: a dedicated team

You will be greeted with a smile by a veteran, Renald Bujold,  a retired physician, of  Gaspé and Acadian origin, polyglot, traveler and dreamer, skillful gardener, good cook in his spare time, and a young Mexican adventurer, Jose Antonio Herrera -Alarcón,  university graduate in management of the tourism industry, responsible for your comfort and expert in  breakfasts; and .... Piccolo, our mascot and appointed mute porter, a Mexican porcelain dog, which from his small house  on the veranda will try to seduce you with a very expressive look.

"The house of the veterinary"

Our house was built around 1875. It is still known by the elders of the area as ¨la maison du vétérinaireʺ.  From 1937 to 1969, it has been the residence of Dr. Caroll Harris, veterinary surgeon, where he exercised his very important profession  of "docteur des animauxʺ,  the nickname local people were giving him. The main body of the house, sitting on its foundation stones of the ninetheenth century, with its three guest rooms underwent  over the years many transformations, but  still keeps the charm of a notable home of the first half of the twentieth century. The last major transformation it suffered was in 1995, when the  dependency in which Dr. Harris "hospitalisait" sick horses,  was converted into an annex to the house with two additional guest rooms.  Now he house with 5 guest rooms still shows original wooden floors and is decorated and furnished with many antiques. Many objects from several continents, witness Renald travels and the Mexican origin of José and ... Piccolo

What distinguishes us

Our garden: a haven of peace downtown

At the heart of the garden, intimate and romantic, where Renald gives free rein to his horticultural passion, still thrones, overlooking the water pound, one of three trees planted during the construction of the house. It is an old maple three at least 140 years old, witness of the past and our pride.

Staying in Gîte Amour et Amitié B&B is really, to quote the slogan so dear to the previous owners, to be BACK IN TIME.
